Fussballstadion Thun

The project envisions keeping the FC Thun stadium at its existing Lachen site. A pure football stadium is planned as a replacement for the current facility. The steeply inclined spectator stands, set closely around the pitch, creates a powerful spatial situation. With the light, open roof structure, bright tires emerge that further enhance the spatial experience. When the stadium is filled with fans, a veritable “football cauldron” comes to life.

The project’s phased implementation allows construction without interrupting ongoing operations and makes it possible to expand from Swiss Football League compliance up to full UEFA standards. The built-in cavity beneath the stands can be adapted and developed as needed, offering flexible use and future potential.
