Simplicity is not banal. The conscious reduction of design means serves to achieve greater clarity and legibility. The continuous process of weighing and prioritizing elements orders constructive and spatial solutions.
The result is a simple formal language that generates versatile spaces and spatial sequences. The stance is one of restraint. Working in context, the economy of means, and natural balance are aspects that enrich the process.
The human being — the observer — remains the reference point and stands at the center. He is both triggered and measured within the built context. The question is not always one of how, but equally of why. Integration and modesty lead to clear and recognizable results. Here begins identification and leads to the identity that is sought. Fingerprints are unique, specific, and serve as distinct signs and witnesses of identity.
“The art of intervention” is a guiding principle and leitmotif.
The first comprehensive exhibition of Rossetti+Wyss Architects takes place at La Galerie d’Architecture in Paris. The exhibition presents a selection of the architects’ work since their founding. Projects are displayed through drawings, images, and large-scale models, accompanied by conceptual texts and sketches from the working process. The exhibition opens on Friday, 08.12.2017, and runs until 13.01.2018. On Friday, 12.01.2018, a conference on the work of Rossetti+Wyss will be held at the Pavillon de l’Arsenal in Paris, where the architects will present their work and discuss it with a broader public.
The exhibition is supported by numerous public and private institutions and companies. A catalogue has been published to accompany the exhibition, documenting the works on display.
